We spent our three-day weekend out in San Diego visiting Lady's mom and bf. The bf is not doing well at all, and hasn't for a few months now, so we came bearing eggs and a frozen chicken and made lots of food to make sure Lady's mom was eating. Which it seems like she hasn't been. Things are really tough for her right now and I don't know much what else to do, but it's looking more and more like we'll be going out there again around Thanksgiving.

I'm glad I was able to see him, glad to be able to trade puns and jokes with him. It reminds me never to take good health for granted, nor the good health of a spouse/partner-in-life. Nor a good circle of friends. Did kind of drive in the incompetency (or simple over-workedness) of most doctors. :/ He's had pretty bad luck.

Persimmons also happened, since Lady's mother has had a tree full of them. Now there's a bag on the counter and I have no idea what to do with it. O.o

...thankfully, I think Lady does.
