The cats have taken to huddling outside our door in the morning, so that I nearly trip over them every time I stumble out, freshly awake.

First thing I've been doing lately is check the temp. We don't keep the heat on at night, so it's a brisk 58 degrees.

Turn on the coffee and - time check!

Hair is getting on the long side so it's not as crazy as usual.

Trying to lengthen the time between shampoos, so it's back to baking soda & vinegar rinses. Works surprisingly well.

Shower time!

Throw in the laundry immediately after shower - I don't have any clean workout clothes left. :(

I also retrieve my pajama pants and robe from the dryer, where they've been heating up quite nicely.

This thing? A problem when our heat hasn't been turned on yet this winter.

No longer a problem. >>

Now I can turn on the heat. All the way to 65, baby!

This is an aspect of the desert I'm still struggling to get used to - just a day ago it was almost 70 degrees, and now this?

I edit for a bit, but don't get very far.

Feed the cats...

Awaken and hydrate the Lady...

Cats get more love from her than they've gotten from me all morning.

Laundry's done! Time to fold and put away.

I try to catch Darjeeling licking the condensation off of the window, but she's too shy.

Lady plays with Kona for a bit.

Checks on the cactus... we brought him inside last night so he wouldn't freeze. :(

Dressed!

And ready to brave the cold!

Time check. We're on our way to Market on the Move, which is this awesome thing where you donate some money and get lots of perfectly good veggies that would have otherwise been binned by grocers.

Our haul! After an hour of standing in line, we filled two boxes to the brim with veggies.

Home again - it takes a while to restore feeling to our frozen limbs.

Darjeeling has the right idea.

I squander a few minutes looking up sauce recipes for our newly acquired bounty.

...and taking cat photos...

Then we trouse up a bag of veggies for

On our way again and - time check!

Our destination.

It's a packed house today, even though it's freezing inside (cones indicate a puddle of water, leaking from burst pipes).

We find a spot and do some squats.

Back out into the relative warmth!

Drop by Sproutflower after dropping off

Second time this day I have to warm up my feet. Thankfully there's this patch of sunlight.

Lunch.

While Lady's napping, I sit in the sun for a while.

I realize I'm much too sleepy, so I set an alarm and also take a nap.

Overshoot the alarm by a little ways....

Time to work on the car, before the sun goes down. One of the headlights is burnt out, so the bulb needs replacing.

Disconnect the headlight.

Pull out the headlight. Open the headlight. Find out the bulb I have is most certainly not a replacement headlight bulb, get bummed, put car back together.

Then I hose it off because it's been a while and the car is awfully dusty.

Lady takes a break to read.

Sharon and Doug drop by!

I get to making gluten free cupcakes, since I had promised I would make them that day.

Doug selects cupcake wrappers.

The finished cake - still has to cool a bit yet.

I use the gin S&D brought to mix myself a gin & seltzer while I wait. It is. Delicious.

Lady helps me ice them when the cupcakes are finally cool.

Doug seems... hesitant. But is then satisfied by the product.

Darj' loaf is jealous.

Kona is harassed.

Doug & Sharon take their leave and we go about putting things in order for tomorrow. Like setting up the coffee.

I start editing some photos from the day.

Then I get sidetracked trying to put a playlist together for

Then I get sidetracked again by writing a blog post about the gluten free cupcakes so that I wouldn't forget the recipe.

Then it's time to feed the cats.

And go to bed.
