Our flights are at an ungodly hour, so we must awake even earlier than that. I wake up before the alarm, but only because I'd been sleeping poorly to begin with.

june-141
Stumble into the bathroom... gotta do something with this hair.

june-143

june-151
Good enough.

june-145
Hello, coffee.

june-146
Hello, breakfast.

june-147
Hello, Lady.

june-148
Hello, packing.

june-150
Essentials to survive the journey: nook, netbook, snack bag, tickets, shuffle, larabar, gum, pen, phone & wallet.

june-152
Packed.

june-153
Coffee'd.

june-154
Time check: time to go.

june-159

june-161
Rental car cleaning floor. Kind of impressive.

june-162

june-164
I drop Lady off at her plane - she's leaving 2 hours ahead of me.

june-165
I wait until her plane departs to go find my own gate.

june-166
It's so empty...

june-169
I have more than enough time for an actual breakfast. Mmm. Bacon.

june-171
I can't sleep, so I read and watch the landscape change. From fields...

june-172
...to clouds...

june-173
...to desert...

june-176
...to Phoenix (where I switch planes)...

june-181
...and finally Tucson.

june-183
Now officially a zombie, I walk to the airport parking lot and pick up my car.

june-186
First thing that needs to be done when finally home is feed the cats.

june-187
Second thing is feed myself. Old cookie dough and salami: lunch of champions.

june-188
I check FB and cop to my terrible lunch.

june-189
Then I text friends to let them know I'm alive and back in town.

june-192
Harass the cats for good measure.

june-194
Unable to properly think, I decide to read for a bit and take a nap.

june-199
I end up staring at the ceiling. After a bit of this, I decide it's probably better to go shopping so I check the contents of the fridge...

june-200
...decide on some recipes for the week...

june-201
...harass the other cat...

june-203
...and go shopping.

june-204
Obligatory shot of my cart.

june-205
Only one bag this week - only one person to feed.

june-206
Contents disgorged.

june-207
Check the time - should I try for another nap? I'm exhausted, but in that weird awake way still.

june-208
I can't decide, so I put some frozen meats in the sink to thaw...

june-212
...and settle down with a snack and some more reading.

june-215
Then, TEA, because it's time to start cooking.

june-216
I make the brine for the chicken...

june-217
...envy the cat...

june-218
...fry some chiles for the chorizo...

june-219
...make the spice mix for the andouille sausage...

june-220
...mix said sausage...

june-222
...and bake said sausage (well, more like meatballs).

june-221
Then I decant some salmon. Spend a moment being squicked out by the bones and skin.

june-224
Then get over my squeamishness and mix it properly.

june-225
The chorizo turns out less than exciting, but I still use it to make some egg boats. Dinner!

june-226
Mix up some cocoa roasted cauliflower.

june-227

june-229
The finished salmon cakes look much better than the stuff straight out of the can.

june-231
I'm still painfully awake, so I make some sleepy time tea to calm down. It's also at this point that I decide not to make several other things on my recipe list.

june-232
Clean up the kitchen...

june-234

june-235
Extract the roasted cauliflower and roasted yellow squash from the oven.

june-236

june-237
Then I read for a few minutes while finishing off the tea...

june-239
...and pass out at the exceedingly appropriate time of 8pm.

ah, the Lindbergh terminal at MSP. ^^;;

At least you woke up. Last time I was there, my alarm clock didn't go off and I ended up getting a wake up call to my hotel room from the driver of the shuttle bus I had ordered the night before.

Kind of side-eyeing your lunch there. The cookie dough is acceptable, but with salami?? ;-)

SALMON CAKE RECIPE, PLEASE.

The cookie dough made me sad. The salami was DELISH.
The salmon cake recipe: http://www.agirlworthsaving.net/2012/04/gf-paleo-salmon-cakes-recipe.html
I baked them instead of frying per one of the comments and also subbed out the dill for parsley. Oh and make sure you do actually get boneless canned salmon because the random chunks I found (all in all maybe three) kind of turned me off to the cakes for a week, even though the cakes themselves were really really good.
