Oh god.

So you know it's bad when I finally break down and go to the doctor. Because I hate going to the doctor and I hate how many times I've gone and either been yelled at or been told there's nothing to be done. And add another one to the nothing-to-be-done pile and I'm leaning more and more towards really, should I ever go to the doctor?

So the rash. The hives. Whatever. It's, thankfully, not allergies, but unthankfully, probably a virus. One that lasts anywhere from five weeks up to six months. I am in week one, I am itchy, I am miserable, and my chest/back/thighs look like someone took a red-hot needle and poke-poke-poked everywhere. It's so bad even the nurses at the walk-in clinic were impressed. I am apparently a classic case of pityriasis rosea aka Christmas tree rash aka FUCKWHATDAMN. So if you ever get a little red rash on your abdomen that lingers for over a week, cut that shit off because otherwise - oh no, TOO LATE.

But seriously, no one even knows what really causes it. They kind of just threw their hands up in the hair and mumbled something about viruses. Shit, no, really? I mean, at least that explains why I've also been feeling otherwise shitty, why I went home early yesterday and didn't even go to the last day of squats for our strength class.

Ugh. I should be glad it isn't something worse, like cancer. Because seriously, the internet threw that possibility at me when I was researching hives. Any symptom can be cancer. Any. I should just stop googling symptoms, but you know. Like that'll ever actually happen.

Enough whining. Life is otherwise okay. Just lacking willpower at the end of the day when I've spent it all not itching. This has resulted in a bottle of cheap-ass wine and TJ's puff pastry pizza for dinner tonight which is both a) not good for me and b) probably not helping my immune system deal with the virus. But do I give a shit at this point? No. Not a single shit.

I'm going to go write now. Because that's still a lot of fun and doesn't itch. As much.

:( !

Apparently there's been some research that going out in the sun can help it - that's the one advantage of living in AZ. Want to go out into the sun sometime soon?

BOO! :-(

Did they at least give you some heavy strength hydrocortisone? I hope it heals quickly.
