Pi Day!

Happy pi day! I have an apple pie in the oven for work and AIP-friendly dough for a cherry pie in the fridge. I hope it tastes all right. It looked like a viable recipe, but you never know. But I just really really want some pie. After all the cakes and sweets at work these past two months which I couldn't even touch with a ten foot poll, it would be nice to have something of my own. :)

Oh pi, you are still my favorite number, even all these years later. I might even be geeking out a little about next year's pi day: 3/14/15. Aaaah. That calls for some kind of crazy pie shenanigans, for sure.

Other exciting things: I get to try coffee today! I haven't had a drop since December and had been cool with that up until the last few weeks, when suddenly I started craving it again. I'd originally decided not to reintroduce coffee until I reached that point, so, here we are. I'm still a little hesitant to actually bring it back because I don't want to get re-addicted, so I'm going to just have it in super tiny amounts. Also I'm weary of all that caffeine. But decaf just doesn't taste as good. :/ We'll see how it goes. Hopefully it's not another egg or cocoa.

Tucson Festival of Books TOMORROW! This will be my fourth, and my third volunteering. I just. So much books. And Brandon Sanderson! Gah.

The diet is still going. My rash looks better here and there, which continues to keep me at it. I also haven't broken out again in fresh ones since the cocoa, so that means butter, seed spices, and nightshade spices are all safe. Phew. Actual nightshades, like tomatoes and peppers, will be next week, and so far I am not expecting anything awful. We're planting tomatoes in our garden for the spring, so I'm also hoping nothing awful.

Garden! Omg. This weekend we're pulling out the old and shoving in the new. We've got tomatoes, tomatillos, carrots, zucchini, watermelon, okra, and lettuce for the spring. I'll have to remember to take some pictures of our winter plants before we yank 'em, but they never really got too exciting. Well, we'll have lots of green onions at least. :)

Have a good pi day - remember to bug all your coworkers/family members/friends, then share some pie with them.
