Whew. Things. Happening. Somehow, being unemployed has made me terribly busy and I don't know how. And speaking of which, I have some blueberry muffins to make for someone's birthday so I'm just going to throw together a list and run away:

1) I'm super stoked to go to Prescott this weekend and keep score for the 2012 Winter Open, i.e., a local crossfit competition that our very own box is sponsoring. I'm nowhere near competition levels, so I'm really excited to have the excuse to go and watch, even though I'm not actually competing or anything.

2) Speaking of crossfit, I can finally jump on the blue box! This is entirely stupid out of context, but we do box jumps as part of the workout sometime and at our gym there are three different heights of box: small yellow, which is ~14 inches, medium blue, which is ~24 inches, and big yellow, which is ~36 inches. I have been stuck on small yellow forever, even putting plates on top to get it higher, and only this weekend did I finally jump onto the medium blue box. I then appropriately gave it the finger and kept jumping on it. That might be why my leg hurts today...

3) HANDSTANDS. I am so close. So close! I will have these in the next week, dammit!

4) Haven't heard anything from the charter school, but the temp agency called me out of the blue and offered me a three day data entry gig. I accepted even though it will mean some fun finagling the next few days because I have been filling up my schedule (like a boss). But jobs and money are more important right now. Sorry volunteering gig - I'll be back next week.

5) Finally joined up with the CSA and our first box is tomorrow and I am disproportionately excited.

6) I had a donut last Friday and it made me sick, so obv it was a good idea to partake in a giant pancake on Sunday. For some reason I felt sick again Monday. I wonder why.

7) I have officially transitioned from mochas and lattes to americanos. Omg. How could I have not discovered americanos before?

8) As seen above, peeps should be getting their STDs in the mail. We had too much fun making these (and stress, I'll admit - damn printer!). If you didn't get one and are certain you should have - i.e., you're a good friend of mine and wouldn't mind hanging out with my family in MN for an evening, which is asking a lot, I know - then it is likely we got the address wrong. So email me.

9) Noam Chomsky is giving a talk on language at the University this afternoon and I am going and I am going to not heckle him and his universal grammar theory because I'm a grown-up.

10) This post on failure also makes me happy. Our society puts too much emphasis on avoiding failure when we should be embracing it. That said, I'm throwing in my gauntlet and signing up for the Warrior Dash on April 28. [livejournal.com profile] the_verb is joining me. I'm pretty sure [livejournal.com profile] malanai is too. It scares me and I'm pretty sure I can't do some of those obstacles (scaling a wall, for instance), but I'm going to do it. It will be awesome.
