Sep. 7th, 2009 08:59 amManaged to actually wake up at a normal hour this morning (read: before 6am) and get to Carkeek while it was still somewhat dark so I could play with shutter speed. Unless I have a filter or two that decrease the amount of light getting through the lens, the only way to get a decent exposure with long shutter speeds is to stop it down or wait it until it's dark. Since both of my lenses don't get any smaller than f22, I'm stuck with waiting for darkness. Thankfully, it's also rainy today. Win!
So I hunched in the rocks and the drizzle amidst geese to take pictures of the waves and those turned out all right (read: eh), but then I set the camera on a picnic bench and tried running in front of it and got this fun set.

Not awesome, but fun. I've been checking the flickr most interesting every day for more inspiration.
But also - is there anything that I might have or might be in my area that you'd like a photo of or to see? Beyond my "take pictures of yellow things" project and playing with the camera itself, I think it'd be a cool project to try and photograph things you guys want to see. Like, I don't know, our collection of forks or the house two blocks down. I'm going to put this request up on FB too.
