Nov. 16th, 2008 09:14 pmzomg! Finished a drafty version of that stupid statement of purpose. Ugh. Have I mentioned how hard it is to write that kind of thing? Selling myself is always so uncomfortable. But man, having even a draft done is great. I sent it to Shaw-beans for looking over and ridiculous comments. I <3 that man. Then after he's done with it, off it goes to Rohrbacher for any further comments, then hopefully a finalized version will emerge and by the end of the week I'll be submitting my application. So close! And right in the midst of NaNo!
So juggling my application woes and anxieties atop writing NaNo, sleeping, and going to work has left me pretty much not going online much. And GAIM never. Come December, hopefully I'll be able to chat people up more. But then, I also intend to pick up my Greek translating again as well as never actually drop the daily writing as well as pick up either Fallout 3 or Left 4 Dead while planning the winter holiday here... oh my. Well, busy is better than not, that's for sure.
This is my seventh day without the morning coffee. I have succumbed thrice to decaf and have replaced the morning coffee with tea. And it has, fortunately or not, completely gotten rid of the anxiety. Thank god, except that, well, I want my coffee. ;.; It's my prized addiction and my love since middle school and it is damned hard to give up (as evidenced by the decaf), but the anxiety was becoming too much. After grocery shopping today I have decaf for the mornings, but it's not quite the same. Hopefully it'll be close enough, though.
NaNo is slowly lumbering back on track. I hit a snag Friday and Saturday when I both wanted a time out and also knew I needed to work on the SoP, so I did absolutely nothing. Well, I did roll a belf mage on the Scarlet Crusade server in the hopes of getting her to level 55 so I can make a death knight named Procne. Because that would be So. Fitting. The mage is on Lady's account, though, so I'll only be leveling her early in the morning or when she's distracted. But if you have a character on SC, her name is Gingerwitch and I wouldn't mind help at all. ^-^
Work has been hectic as all hell. Them firing boss-lady left this empty hole where someone who had way too much on her plate had been and now all that way too much is being conveyed to the rest of us. Among many other little management changes, it's starting to T me off just a tad. They really don't pay me enough to demand as much as they do from me, so I'm just going to have to start digging in my heels a little more. This is not my career and frankly I couldn't care less about the company, so stop acting like the opposite is true or pay me more, kay? Thx.
