Woah, that 4am shift at work really threw me. I didn't even realize we were on the 6th of January already. So, let's see... day 02 was Jan 3rd, so I have to play catch up on three days.

But first, I was officially offered the position, so now I feel like I can talk a little about it without jinxing it. Basically I'll be a secretary, but one for the city of Tucson, specifically the mayor's office. It sounds pretty awesome, and well within my range of abilities, and also well above what Target pays me. Yayayay.

And Doug is coming to visit Saturday! Triple yay! Anyone who wants to hang with us, let me know. Due to Target also generally reducing its hours over all, I unexpectedly have several days off next week so - let's take advantage of that. I'm thinking Sabino Canyon, possibly Mt Lemmon, and mad amounts of Raging Sage. Eh? Eh??

Okay, now for catching up with that 30-day meme:

Day 03 - Your views on drugs and alcohol
Pretty much, as long as you aren't hurting yourself or others, go for it. And even if you are hurting yourself, as long as you're fully aware of the consequences and it's still not hurting anyone around you... well. Basically, people differ, situations differ, and it's hard to understand another's decisions unless you've been there too.

Day 04 - Your views on religion
Same as above; as long as you aren't hurting yourself or others, go for it. I tried to be a good Christian when I was younger, but I just couldn't accept the idea of an omnipotent being when there is no actual evidence for one. I even tried paganism, but the same hangup prevailed. I can certainly understand how one can find solace in religion; it is awfully nice to have something to fall back on, some sort of assurance that everything will turn out all right eventually due to a larger plan. And sometimes I'm tempted to believe in fate, just because of how things turn out in the weirdest ways. But I also believe we are very adept at seeing patterns, even when there are none, and making sense out of nonsense.
Still, religion is not as horrible as so many atheists make it out to be. The people who use religion as an excuse for their hate would just find another way to justify themselves. People are people, and if you took religion away, they would turn to jingoism or racism or something just as allowing of their hate and stupidity. I've seen religious communities at work, too, an they can be amazing. So although I may not ascribe to religion any more, I can still appreciate it.

Day 05 - A time you thought about ending your own life
I don't know why I didn't see this when I originally perused this list; otherwise I would have changed it to something more palatable. Frankly, I don't like thinking or discussing those times in my life, not just because it's uncomfortable, but because I've dealt with it and it was also a long time ago. Plus, I've been horribly in love with life since college.

Yay life!
