Happy Solstice and a Wedding

Missed out on the lunar eclipse last night - I stumbled out half-asleep at 1am by the call of my alarm, peeked out the window, decided it was cloudy, and went back to sleep. I don't actually know if it was cloudy or not. x.X

But TODAY, today is [livejournal.com profile] the_verb's wedding, and I have my batteries all a-charged and my clothes all picked out, and there be cupcakes (pictured above), and now all I have to do is make sure caffeine stays in my veins and the 2 10-hour days I just spent bike building don't decide to catch up until tomorrow. The blisters aren't as bad as I thought, at least, and it seems the horrible bruises I was anticipating on my arms haven't started to purple yet. I really like building bikes, but sometimes it can be quite painful. In fact, there was one point when my hand was slick from oil and I'd forgotten about it until I was wheeling a bike around and I briefly panicked, convinced I had someone started to bleed on the bike. Oh no! Not on the bike!

And after today is Wednesday, a day of rest and packing, because on Thursday Lady and I are heading out to Atlanta to my aunt's and the rest of the British, military side of my family. I'm pretty excited - there will be food and people and apparently dad has it in his bonnet that he's going to use my photos to make a photo book of the gathering. So I expect I'll have a lot of photos between that and the wedding when I come back.

No internet, though; I'm leaving the laptop. I'll have enough to deal with with the TSA freaking out over my d3. x.X

So I wish you all a happy solstice, a delighting in the lengthening of days, a happy Christmas, and a happy Boxing day. :)

Oh and don't forget: we're getting into the second week of NaNoReadMo!
