When it rains it, well, it really rains

Buckets, even.

Funnily enough, last night the rain was coming down so hard it leaked through the top of our window, pouring like a waterfall. I love the storms here, but damn.

So in the last week I did an amazing product shoot, got called in for an interview at Target, got hired at Target, was contacted to do a headshot, did said headshot, was given the possibility of doing more headshots of his colleagues at their next big meeting (pending approval from their boss-boss, so who knows), got called up by Sears and offered a position at their studio, half turned it down because I'd already obliged myself to Target only to, after a full 24 hours of cogitating and feeling downright sick to my stomach, turn face and be unable to contact the manager (so the current record is: I have no idea but I doubt it), finished GW, and started SC, keeping up with my 2k a day goal to finish SC before November and NaNo.

Phew! So in short, I go almost three months without a job, without any callbacks, without a hint of employment, and in the last week I'm hired, I do two shoots, and I get offered the job I abso-bloody-lutely wanted right after accepting a so-so one. So yeah. Buckets.

On the non-employment front, Lady's sister organized a weekly photo project with a few of her friends and me. We're going down the alphabet, so "A" was due on Sunday. I did agave, as you can see above (full details on how the shot was done are over at flickr). I'm still on the fence for "B" - I'd really like to do bees, but they're hard to find here and I've been really bad at quick-moving macro.

I also stayed up until 1am on Monday finishing GW, which was an absolute blast. I love writing and I love that I'm getting back to it and sticking with it. I'm almost up to a consistent 2k a day, which would be fifty amazings if I can stick with that once I have employment again. At this rate, maybe I'll even fulfill my goal of sending out a query or two before the end of the year. I want a rejection letter for Christmas. Or hell, Epiphany. :D
